The Ambeng Rice or called Nasi Ambeng in Malay is the famous cultural food in Tanjung Karang that left the Javanese. The Ambeng Rice are served in large portion and it consists of large component of white rice and served with side dishes. The side dishes are fried chicken or chicken cook with red sauce or soya sauce, pan-fried coconut floss, vegetables, dried fish, and fried noodles or vermicelli. All this side dishes and white rice are served on a huge banana leaf. It is normally can fit to 4 or 5 people per portion of Ambeng Rice.
It served in traditional way. So we need to use traditional way to eat it ! By bare hands without spoon and fork! |
